August was a month of growing clarity on where I want to take my business, as well as my artistic workflow.
I also took a week off to go on vacation, so that’s a week gone.
Let’s get into detail:
I’ve tried to figure out different ways to come up with designs.
Honestly, I thought that I would always have something to draw, or that it wouldn’t take that long to figure out what I wanted to draw. It’s a little harder than that.
“I have read my eyes out and can’t read half enough,” John Adams once lamented in a letter to Abigail. “The more one reads, the more one sees we have to read.”
The books keep coming in, and the more I read, the more I see that I need to read more. What was I doing before I discovered books?
John Adams was right.
I completed another art tutorial for my art education that combined a bit of everything that I’m learning with regard to photobashing, modeling and rendering.
I’ve been spending time doing some learning in ZBrush and Keyshot. After dropping $349 for the Keyshot to ZBrush bridge, I thought I should make good use of it.
After reading the book, Steal Like an Artist, I came to agreement that a lot of artist steal to become original.
They take bits of a lot of things they enjoy, and tie them into their own creation.
